Welcome to Pre-school class page
Meet the team…….
Mrs Jones – Room leader
At Pre-school we take children from the age of 2. We have qualified, highly trained and experienced staff that will care for your children. We will provide the children with a variety of sensory play experiences to encourage language and develop their explorative senses. We follow the Development Matters document and focus on the prime areas which are, personal social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development. We work alongside this for our next steps and focused activities. Each child has their own key person who is responsible for observations, tracking and the up keep of their learning journey. We follow the children’s interests and use this to help us plan for them. We offer either morning or afternoon sessions.
Morning session starts at 8.50am till 11.50am
Afternoon session starts at 12pm-3pm
The children will bring home their WOW books once a week. Each week we will put a note in the book telling you what we are talking about and focusing on that week. We will also give you ideas of things you can do at home to support your child. Each week the children will have time to share what they have been doing at home. If you could write a quick note about what you have done with your child in the book, let them put something in their book or add any photos or tickets, brochures from places you have visited or things you have done at home it would be lovely for the children to be able to talk to us about these. We put the new WOW work in every Tuesday and ask you to bring them in on a Tuesday to be updated.
STAY AND PLAY
Each half term we hold a Stay and Play session for parents, grandparents, carers etc to spend a session in Pre-school with the children. These sessions are designed to be fun for everyone and the children enjoy having you in to play. It also gives you the opportunity to see what the children do.
We try and have a theme for each session such as Christmas, Numbers, Literacy and you will be able to see and join in with some of the activities the children do to develop their skills. We alternate the times and days of the sessions to try and enable as many parents to attend as possible. If you are limited on times when you can attend please let us know and we will try and plan a session to accommodate this.
Our next stay and play is on Wednesday 17th May from 9-10.30am
We look forward to seeing you.
