Welcome to Year 4!
I hope you have all had a brilliant summer holiday!
Our exciting topic this term will be Ancient Egypt- The Jewel of the Nile. I am looking forward to seeing what you have been working on for your homework projects and hopefully being able to display them around our classroom. During this topic, we will be going back in time and exploring many aspects of Ancient Egypt.
Our English lessons will be closely linked to topic as we will be studying the book ‘The Egyptian Cinderella’, looking at traditional tales.
PE will be Tuesday afternoons. If the weather stays nice I will be aiming to take children outside as much as possible. Remember, house points will be given to children who remember their PE kits so please make sure you have yours in school every week for our PE lessons!
Homework will be set every Friday and children must return their completed homework the following Thursday. Awards will be handed out to those children who complete their homework on time and to a good standard. In addition, children will bring home a reading book and reading record every night. When children read at home please make sure an adult can sign and leave a comment to help us keep track of when the children have read and can earn points in the Wolverham Reading Challenge to collect prizes.
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone during our first term back and please don’t hesitate to come in and speak to me!
