Welcome Back Year 4!
We have made a great start this term, and you have all come back from Easter break ready to amaze!
We have lots of exciting topics to explore including our ‘Ancient Egypt’ topic. We will be learning all about the accomplishments of this great civilisation and what life would have been like during that time. I was very impressed with lots of the homework completed over the Easter break. Pictures can be found on our class blog. Our book this term will be The Egyptian Cinderella. We will be stepping into Rhodopis’ shoes and creating lots of amazing stories and written work!
The children will be going swimming on a Monday afternoon so may be a little late back to school. We appreciate your patience. The children will need a towel and swim suit. It is suggested that girls have a one piece and boys where trucks that are not to baggy or have pockets for safety reasons. If your child would like to wear goggles, then a letter will need to be written to indicate this.
We are very lucky at Wolverham Primary to have the opportunity to learn to play the violin. It is essential that the children take home their violins and practice during the week, but they must be in school for our weekly lessons on a Thursday. Each week, there will be a ‘violinist of the week’ which can be seen on our class blog.
We are very much looking forward to wowing you again at our next concert!
Homework will be set every Friday, and must be returned by the following Thursday morning. If children need help with their homework or would like to complete it in school, we offer a lunchtime and after school homework club.
It is vital that the children are reading at home and that this is recorded in their reading journals so that they are able to collect their points and have the chance to win fantastic prizes and win our reader of the week award!
Don’t forget to check out our class blog to find out what we have been up to in class and around school.
I am looking forward to this term, we will be working extra hard but enjoying every minute of it!
Thank you for your continued support.
Miss Evans 🙂
