Welcome to Year 4!
Happy New Year! I hope you have all had a fantastic Christmas holiday.
Our new topic this term will be The Ruthless Romans. I am looking forward to seeing what you have been working on for your homework projects and hopefully being able to display them around our classroom. During this topic, we will be going back in time and exploring the impact the Romans had on Britain as well as doing some more in depth geography work.
In our English lessons, we will begin with looking at Anthony Browne’s book Gorilla and doing work closely linked to the themes in this narrative.
PE will now be Friday afternoons and we will be doing gymnastics with a trained coach. Remember, house points will be given to children who remember their PE kits so please make sure you have yours in school every week for our PE lessons!
Homework will be set every Friday and children must return their completed homework the following Thursday. Awards will be handed out to those children who complete their homework on time and to a good standard. In addition, children will bring home a reading book and reading record every night. When children read at home please make sure an adult can sign and leave a comment to help us keep track of when the children have read and can earn points in the Wolverham Reading Challenge to collect prizes.
We have made a fantastic start to 2018 and I’m looking forward to this term.
As always I hope you know where I am if you need me. Please don’t hesitate to come in and see me.
